Thomas A. Connelly, Jr., 64, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family in Reading, MA on March 7, 2026. 

Born January 19,1962 to Thomas and Loretta Connelly, Tom was the youngest of four children raised in St. Paul, MN. He graduated from St. Thomas Academy in Mendota Heights, MN and the University of Minnesota, class of 1985.  His career in Group Insurance Sales in the Boston, MA area spanned decades with employment at Reliastar Life Insurance Company and ING.

A beloved husband of 33 years, Tom was married to Cara Connelly (Cashman) whom he met skiing in Killington, VT. For the past 30 years, they have resided in Reading, MA where they raised their three daughters, Brittany, Caitlin, and Alana. He enjoyed travelling, golfing, cooking, reading, and gardening. 

Tom is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Cara, and children Brittany, Caitlin, and Alana. He is also survived by his siblings Lynn (Paul) Panus, Patrick (Roxanne), and MaryAnn (Tom) Orfei. He loved spending time with his and Cara’s family and friends, along with his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly. 

There will be a funeral mass held at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Church, 2 School Street, Amesbury, MA 01913. There will be no burial at this time.
