Theresa Marie (Rickard) Sousa (1925 - 2024)

Theresa Marie (Rickard) Sousa, a beloved matriarch of five generations, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024, at the age of 99. Theresa was born on May 11, 1925, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, to Ernest Rickard and Emma May Dupré. She was one of seven children, all of whom are now deceased. Theresa had seven children with her first husband, Alfred Trovato: the late Mary Trovato, formerly of Lowell, Massachusetts; Louise Hargis of Pensacola, Florida; the late John Trovato, formerly of Tewksbury, Massachusetts; Patricia Mascaro of Georgetown, Massachusetts; Sandra Washburn of Salisbury, Massachusetts; Alfred Trovato Jr. of Hanford, California; and Theresa Learned of Keene, New Hampshire. In addition to raising her children, Theresa was employed at Digital Corporation. She retired thirty-seven years ago. Along with her love for family, Theresa will be remembered for her kindness, her sense of humor, and her loving nature, traits that endeared her to all who knew her. 

 An hour of visitation will be held this Wednesday Aug. 14, 2024 from 9-10 am at the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home 118 Friend St. in Amesbury, MA.followed by a 10:30 mass at the St.. Andre Bessette Parish Church 2 School St. in Amesbury. Burial will follow in the Bartlett Cemetery..
