Tepsie "Tep" (Villaras) Sawyer

Amesbury - Tepsie “Tep” (Villaras) Sawyer, age 97, passed away peacefully on November 14th, 2024. Born in Newburyport, MA, on January 30th, 1927, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched the lives of everyone who knew her. 

Tepsie is the daughter of the late Nicklys and Penelope Vilaras of Newburyport, MA. She was the devoted wife of the late Harold W. “Tom” Sawyer. 

Tepsie is survived by her five children, Diana Sawyer of Seabrook, NH, Linda Sawyer of Exeter, NH, Tom Sawyer and wife, Jamie of Haverhill, MA, Penny Sawyer Pearl of Amesbury, MA, and Chrisjean Morton and husband, James of Seabrook, NH. She also is survived by her sister, Connie Mathieu, of Newbury, MA, six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Tepsie is preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Drew. 

Tepsie was a 1944 graduate of Newburyport High School. She was an avid gardener and loved to maintain her backyard with her husband every year. Tepsie also enjoyed knitting, sewing, music, golfing, skiing, trips to Florida, and cooking many meals for her family and friends. 

Private funeral services were held at  E V Jutras & Sons Funeral Home in Amesbury, MA. 

Tepsie was a lifelong member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Newburyport MA. Donations may be made in her Tepsie’s honor.
