Ronald A. Roy, 89, died March 14, 2025. 

  He was the husband of Judith (Draheim) Roy with whom he shared 35 years of marriage and Brenda L. (Nice) Roy who passed away after 29 years of marriage in 1987. He was born in Amesbury on October 5, 1935 the son of Henry I. Roy and Lena (Blais) Roy. He attended St. Joseph’s Grammar School and graduated from Amesbury High in 1953. He enlisted in the Army and was a Korean War veteran. He retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1986 and enjoyed biking, golf, woodworking, running, boating, lobstering, yard work and singing. He sang in barbershop quartets, church choirs and local shows.  He was a cantor at the Church of the Nativity in Merrimac, Saint Anne’s in West Newbury and Holy Family Parish in Amesbury. He sang in the Merrimac Santa Shows for 25 years doing barbershop quartet songs, duets, and solos. 

  Family members include three daughters: Susan (Roy) Smith and husband Tim of Newburyport, MA; Sharon (Roy) Cahill and husband Mark of Suffolk, VA; and Sheila Roy of Exeter, NH.  Stepchildren include: Jean (Draheim) Newton and husband Tim of Amesbury, MA and Mark Draheim and wife Sherry of Millbrae, CA.  Grandchildren include: Brenda (Pollard) Moran and husband Doug, Andrew Pollard and wife Allison, Robert Cahill and wife Megan, Kelsey Cahill, Lillian Newton, Curtis Draheim, and Alyssa Draheim. Great grand-children include: Addison LeAnne Bell (preceded in death) and Daniel Blake Eubanks; Calvin Blais, Cody Hayes, Charlee Daize, Crikit Rhaes, and Cashel Fayze Moran; Bryan Paul, Belle Capri, and Brogan Cash Cahill; and Penny Benzetta Pollard. He is survived by a brother Roland and wife Terry of Jacksonville, AR. He has several cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

  A private family service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the music department for the Amesbury Public Schools.
