Roger Norman Fournier Obituary

Roger Norman Fournier

February 22, 1944 - November 20, 2024

Roger Norman Fournier a longtime resident of Amesbury passed away at the age of 80 at his residence in Salisbury, Massachusetts, surrounded by his family after a very brief battle with cancer. He was a genuine and loving husband to his wife, Karen, of 58 years.

Roger was born February 22,1944, in Amesbury, Massachusetts, to his late parents Joseph ”Henry” Fournier and Yvonne Fournier. He attended Haverhill Trade High School. He was a carpenter for many years of his life working for Smith Brothers of South Hampton, N.H, eventually retiring from Harbor Schools after 20-plus years as facilities manager. He spent much of his free time camping with his family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to fix everything and anything. He always had a way to make things right. He painted much of his life. In the past few years created painted lighted bottles and wind chimes to share with others. He was a builder, a gardener, a cook, a baker, and always a tinkerer. His latest large projects were helping to build his daughter Heidi’s home and renovating his son Tim’s home.

Roger will be greatly missed by his wife, Karen Fournier; his daughter Michele Hook and husband Tony, forever son-in-law Mike Waugh, and their three children Nicol, Steven, and Jeffery; his son, Tim Fournier and daughter- in-law Jena and their daughter Abigail; his daughter Heidi Hovde and son-in- law Aaron and their four children Ava, Cole, Ruby, and Stone; and his great grandchildren Evalese, Molly, and Vivienne.

He is also survived by his eight siblings and their spouses Henry and Cathy Fournier, Paul and Debbie Fournier, Yvonne and Jim Bateman, Ronald and Jane Fournier, Elaine and Harry Hersey, Diane and Russell Lambert; David and Denise Fournier; Mark and Teresa Fournier; and many nieces and nephews.

Services are private at the request of the family. A celebration of life is planned for December 7, 2024 for family and friends.
