Phyllis Ann Glidden

September 2, 1946 – November 10, 2024

 Phyllis Ann Glidden, 78, of Newton, NH, passed away peacefully the morning of November 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 2, 1946, in Haverhill MA, Phyllis was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

 Phyllis was the beloved mother of three sons: Robert F. Hanson Jr., Randolph J. Hanson, and Douglas E. Hanson. She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren, Megan Hanson, Lucas Hanson, Brianna Hanson, Lauryn Pineau, Tyler Hansen, and Tasha Jackson, and a great- grandmother to two great-grandchildren, Amelia Pineau and Cameron Harrington.

  A woman of warmth and vitality, Phyllis had a career as an office manager for several local dental practices within the last 20 years. Her organizational skills and friendly demeanor madeher an invaluable asset to the teams she worked with. Phyllis was known for her quick wit, sense of humor, and playful banter, which made her a cherished figure among family, friends,and colleagues alike.

  Outside of work, Phyllis enjoyed spending quality time with her family and was particularly close to her dog, Charlie, who was a constant companion. She took great joy in creating lasting memories with her loved ones, and her outgoing, tell-it-like-it-is nature left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

 Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Viola Glidden and siblings Ione, Evelyn, Lloyd, Joseph, Clara, Gerald, and Vernon. Whether known as Auntie Phyllis, Phyllis, or Phyl, she had the remarkable gift and the personality to make anyone feel like an old friend no matter how much time had passed. Whether it had been a month, a year, or more since their last chat, her genuine interest and personality made the connection feel effortless. She found fulfillment in the close bonds she shared with her sons, grandchildren, and extended family.

  Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at EV Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend St., Amesbury, MA. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Phyllis’s life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, give those close to you a big hug and a simple, “I love you.” in Phyllis’s memory.

Phyllis’s kindness, humor, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
