Penelope "Penny" Sawyer Obituary

Penny Sawyer of Amesbury, Massachusetts, born February 24th, 1962, died unexpectedly on December 15th, 2025. 

Penny loved nothing more than time with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, good food, and even better wine—always shared in good company. She was known for her warmth, generosity, and the ease with which she connected with others, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. 

Penny was a 1980 graduate of Whittier Technical High School. She enjoyed an early career at Lucent Technologies before later pursuing her passion as a hair stylist. She dedicated more than 20 years as a hair stylist at Dellaria Salon in Danvers, Massachusetts, where she built meaningful relationships with colleagues and clients, many of whom became lifelong friends. She took great pride in her work and was deeply valued for her talent, kindness, and care. 

Penny is survived by her siblings, Diana Sawyer of Seabrook, NH; Linda Sawyer of Exeter, NH; Tom Sawyer and his wife, Jamie, of Haverhill, MA; and Chrisjean Morton and her husband, James, of Seabrook, NH. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She also leaves behind her two cherished cats, Coco and Molly, and her beloved Chihuahua, Deano, who were a constant source of comfort and companionship. 

Penny was predeceased by her parents, Harold “Tom” Sawyer and Tepsie Sawyer; her sister, Patricia Drew.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 29th, from 11:00 a.m. to 12 Noon at E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home 118 Friend St. in Amesbury, Massachusetts, burial will be at a later date
