Patricia Ponticelli, age 67, passed away peacefully at Port Healthcare Center Hospice in Newburyport, MA on November 6th 2024, with her family by her side. Pat was born to Giovannina and Norman Obert on September 24, 1957, in Amesbury, MA. She worked at Amesbury Hospital, Anna Jaques Hospital, and Lawrence General Hospital for 10 years each as a Dietitian and Diabetes educator. Pat was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and had also attended Mount Saint Mary’s College where she studied to be a Dietitian. Patricia was a lifelong resident of Amesbury and a proud member of Saint Andre Bessette Church where she continued to grow and foster her love in the Lord and serve the church and local community whenever able.
Pat leaves two children – her son Ryan Ponticelli of Marblehead MA, and her daughter Angela Ponticelli, her husband Leo and 4 grandsons of Dupont WA. She was predeceased by her mother, Giovannina Obert in 2005, her father Norman Obert, in 2004 and sister Mary Fortin 2024. She is survived by; sister Norma Ayers and her husband Larry of Kingston, NH; brother Ed Obert and his wife Naila of Haverhill, MA, brother Chris Obert and his wife Nancy of Bradford, MA. Pat leaves lifelong friends Kathy and Ernie Fuller, Robin Miller and her late husband Dennis and many other beloved friends and relatives.
Though Patricia will be deeply missed, her unwavering devotion to her family and friends will continue to inspire all who knew, loved, and cared for her. The sparkle in her eye and infectious smile when sneaking a sweet treat, especially a Bismark, the joy with which she would belt out her favorite Lou Monte song while encouraging others to sing along, and the warmth of family dinners filled with meatballs and raviolis—these moments should serve as a reminder to us all not to let life’s everyday stresses overwhelm us. Instead, we should embrace life’s small blessings, the unconditional love of family, and the occasional indulgence in a sweet treat.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on November 22nd, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Jutras Funeral Home, 118 Friend Street, Amesbury, MA. A Burial Mass will be celebrated on November 23rd, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Andre Bessette Parish Church, 2 School Street, Amesbury, MA. There will be a short gathering, after mass, at St Joseph’s Cemetery, 12 Haverhill Rd. in Amesbury, followed by a Mercy Meal at St. Andre Bessette Parish Hall.
