Nancy Ann (Carson) Lowell, 93, a longtime resident of Amesbury, MA and St Petersburg, FL, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, December 27, 2025 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Newburyport, MA on August 31, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Leland C Carson and Gertrude (Menut) Carson.
After graduating from Newburyport High School, she attended college in California for one year. Her career started as an x-ray technician, but she decided to stay at home to raise her children and take care of her grandchildren.
She was affiliated with the Altar Guild of St James Episcopal Church in Amesbury for many years, and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, traveling and most of all hosting family gatherings.
She was the beloved wife for 72 years of her surviving husband Frederick Weare Lowell of Amesbury MA and St Petersburg FL. She is also survived by her son, Walter L Lowell and wife Kimberly Lowell of South Hampton NH, two daughters, Barbara A Lowell of Amesbury MA, Janice E Tilley and husband Scott Tilley of Newburyport MA, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
At the family’s request there will be no calling hours, and a small private funeral and burial will be held.
