Salisbury, MA -
Michael A. Rubino passed away in his home on January 25, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Dale (DiMaggio) Rubino.
Originally from Newburyport, Mike was the son of the late Carlo and Juliette Rubino. He lived most his life on Plum Island, and moved to Salisbury in the home he built for him and his wife. Mike graduated from Newburyport High School and eventually started doing carpentry work. He soon became a skilled finish carpenter. Mike truly loved his work. Though he had retired several years ago he continued with his love of wood-working by completing several final touches on their home - often surprising his wife with new shelving, shiplap or crown molding. He later started making charcuterie boards out of specialty woods and other wood projects which he sold locally. Mike always loved visiting the waterfront and boating, and enjoyed making wooden fishing boat models. He always was actively working on a 1,000 piece puzzle on the dining room table - which he often completed in a matter of days. Mike loved to cook. His family often joked that his favorite holidays were Thanksgiving and Superbowl Sunday, as he couldn't wait to start building his menu and start cooking for the events. He loved to cook for his family, and made Thanksgiving truly special. His love of cooking was only rivaled by his love of sports. Mike could always be found watching the Patriots as he was an avid football fan. He enjoyed Fantasy Football and took great care researching his "picks" for the week. Mike's father taught him the game of golf, and he cherished the fact that he was able to golf with his father (his best friend), for many many years. He loved living in New England, and often vacationed in Booth Bay Maine.
Mike leaves behind his wife, Dale; sister and brother in-law Carla and David Webb; sister in law Donna Sullivan; brother and sister in law Danny and Elaine DiMaggio, along with nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, as well as an extended family of cousins and dear friends - all of whom, he truly cherished and cared for deeply.
Arrangements: Calling hours will be held at E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home 118 Friend St. in Amesbury on Monday, February 3, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.
