Jerome (Jerry) E. Gosselin, 78 years old of Salem, NH passed on December 18, 2025 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Jerry had suffered a number of illnesses over several years without complaint. He was born January 25, 1947 in Amesbury, MA to Edward and Blanche Gosselin. Jerry served in the Army during the Vietnam War, He was proud of his country and his time served overseas.
As a skilled carpenter and contractor, he built many homes in the New England area, including the one they lived in, in Salem, NH. Later in his career he was employed as a facilities manager at several corporations, finishing at Rolls Systems in Burlington, MA. He loved spending time with Elizabeth at their camp on the lake in Maine, which they shared with family and friends. He will always be remembered for helping anyone who needed a hand. Jerry loved boating, water skiing, fishing and gardening. Every year he would can dozens of quarts of tomatoes. He was a man of action with a kind heart and a large personality that radiated fun!
Last month he lost his wife Elizabeth, who he was married to for 53 years and she was the love of his life. Now they can be together for eternity. Jerry is survived by his sister Jean Marie LaPlante and her husband Raymond, of Amesbury, and sisters in-law Joan (Joansie) McAveeney, Carol Bellavance, and brother in-law Charles McAveeney. Jerry had many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was loved by all who knew him and spent time with him. He is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Gosselin, his parents Edward and Blanche Gosselin, and sister Joanne Gosselin.
Calling hours will be held at E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend St., Amesbury, MA on Tuesday December 30, 2025 at 8:30-10:00 AM, followed by a Mass at St. Joseph’s Church of Andre Bessette Parish, 2 School St., Amesbury, MA at 10:30 AM. Following the Mass, the burial will be at Bartlett Cemetery in Amesbury. There will be a mercy meal immediately following at St. Joseph’s hall behind the church.
