Denis D. Sanfacon Obituary
Denis D. Sanfacon March 31, 1948 - February 28, 2026
Denis was born and raised in Amesbury, MA, attending Sacred Heart Grammar School and graduating from Amesbury High School in 1966. After graduation, he went on to Springfield College, where he played soccer and earned a degree in Manufacturing Technology. In and around his time at college, he served as a member of the United States Army Reserve. In 1972, he married his beautiful wife (Sandra Lemieux), sharing a deeply loving and supportive bond that would last 54 years.
For employment, Denis spent several years as the Safety Officer at Bartley Machine & Manufacturing in Amesbury. After retiring from Bartley, he worked independently performing home renovations for residents of the North Shore. When his working days officially ended, Denis continued to share his wealth of home improvement knowledge, assisting family and friends with their projects. He took great pride in his work, which he mastered during his many hours completely overhauling his Victorian home at 200 Market St in Amesbury.
Denis was a devoted family man known for his good-nature and quick wit. He was trustworthy, consistent, and dependable, always fulfilling expectations and promises. When it came to his loved ones, he had high conscientiousness and a strong sense of duty. He was a forgiving man, prioritizing restoring relationships rather than holding onto resentment. Denis always apologized for his mistakes, accepting full responsibility, acknowledging the impact, and expressing remorse. Through these defining characteristics, he fully embodied the mentor role to his three sons.
Denis had many interests, including woodworking, fishing, and the New England Patriots, but what he cherished most was coaching his sons’ youth sports teams and laughing with family and friends. He was welcoming, calm, and relaxed, creating a sense of comfort to all those around him. Denis prioritized his family over all else and took great pride in the success of those closest to him. His legacy will not be forgotten and he’ll be profoundly missed.
Denis is pre-deceased by his father (Eugene Sanfacon), mother (Rose Sanfacon), and older brother and sister (Robert Sanfacon and Roberta Mellon). He leaves behind his loving wife (Sandra Sanfacon) along with their three sons and spouses (Keith & Laura, Matthew & Kathleen, and Peter & Kristina), seven grandchildren (Scarlett & Bram; Isabella, Noah, & Brinley; and Lilianna & Asher), two sisters-in-law (Marilyn Sanfacon and Barbara Lemieux), brother-in-law (Albin “Butch” Mellon), and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends whom he loved dearly.
