Cynthia "Cindy" (Collins) LaCarubba

Cynthia “Cindy” Collins LaCarubba, age 66, of Amesbury, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on June 27, 2026. 

Born in Salem, Massachusetts, Cindy spent her early childhood there before moving to Amesbury during middle school, where she remained for the rest of her life. She recently retired after a long and dedicated career with the Internal Revenue Service, looking forward to enjoying more time with the people she loved most.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Richard “Bumpa” Collins and Constance Collins, and by her beloved sister, Kimberly Collins.

She is survived by her longtime partner, Paul Perkins; her brother, Timothy Collins and his wife, Dawn, along with their children, Kasey, Keenan, Killian, and Kamden; her son, Ryan Collins and his wife, Aimee, and their children, Brody and Leighton; her daughter, Andrea Glennon and her husband, Jonathan (“Jonny”) and their children, Theodore (“Teddy”) and Cameron; and her daughter, Brianna Paulhus and her husband, Edward (“Eddie”) Paulhus. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Marley, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Cindy worked hard throughout her life, overcoming challenges from an early age with determination, resilience, and strength. While she was proud of her long career with the IRS, her greatest joy was bringing people together. The home she shared with Paul became a place where family and friends always felt welcome, especially during the annual Memorial Day gatherings that became a cherished tradition. She took great pride in opening her doors to everyone, creating a home filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories that will be treasured for years to come.

Above all else, Cindy loved her family. Her greatest joy in life was being “Nanny,” and nothing made her happier than spending time with her grandchildren. She treasured every laugh, every gathering, and every moment shared with those she loved. She also had a special place in her heart for animals. She always joked that each dog would be “the last one,” only to welcome another furry companion into her home not long after. More recently she became a very enthusiastic chicken grandma to her daughter’s chickens. She loved visiting to feed the chickens, eagerly learned everything she could about them, and never missed a chance to send the family another chicken video or fun fact she’d discovered.

In keeping with Cindy’s wishes, no formal funeral services will be held at this time. A celebration of her life will be planned for a later date—a gathering filled with family, friends, laughter, and love, just as she would have wanted.
