Annabelle M. (McLaughlin) Boody, 96, of Amesbury, passed away on February 7, 2025. Born on December 25, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Gertrude (Babin) McLaughlin.
Annabelle was a lifelong resident of Amesbury. Throughout her career, she worked at various businesses in downtown Amesbury, including J.J. Newbury, Clayton's Shoe Store , Maxwell's Jewelers, and First National Stores. Annabelle and her husband Bob cherished spending time with their grandchildren, whether it was swimming in the pool during the summer or sliding in their front yard during the winter. They were also dedicated to attending many of their grandchildren's sporting events Annabelle also taught her grandchildren how to play poker, adding a fun and unique twist to family gatherings. The couple enjoyed traveling together, often taking winter breaks in the south with numerous sightseeing stops, frequently ending up in Florida.They also toured the California coast and made trips toHawaii and Europe. However, Annabelle's favorite adventures were the cruises they took throughout theCaribbean. Annabelle was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years,Robert, her son Robert Jr., and her brothers Walsh, Herman, John, and Calvin. She is survived by her sons Edmund, Thomas and his wife Maureen, and her daughter Coleen and her husband Stephen. Annabelle also leaves behind her grandchildren Mathew, Amanda, Leah, Nick, Michael, Bobby, and Brenda, her great-grandchildren Nolan, Lincoln, and Ramsey, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass for Annabelle will be celebrated this Wednesday Feb. 12 at 10:30 am in the St. Andre Bessette Parish Church 2 School St in Amesbury. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
