Aline C. (DesAutels) Dodier Obituary

Aline C. (DesAutels) Dodier, 91 passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Sept 27, 2025, at the Haverhill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Haverhill, and she was in the care of Harborside Hospice.

Aline was born and raised in Amesbury and lived her entire life in the house she was born in. She was the daughter of the late Adrien and Ella (Cayer) DesAutels.

Aline was a devoted wife to her late husband of 58 years Louis J. Dodier who passed away in July of 2012 and a loving mother, memere, and great-memere. She was a valued friend to her many friends. Attended Sacred Heart School, Amesbury and a graduate of Amesbury High School Class of 1952, she went on to work at Western Electric Co., later became Lucent Technologies in North Andover, MA for 33 years retiring in 1989.

She was a friendly, outgoing, kind, happy person who loved her family and friends. Aline genuinely loved people and she would strike up a conversation wherever she was. She was also fiercely independent and was a take charge individual.

Aline was also extremely talented, and she would happily share the fruits of her talents whether it was baking, cooking, knitting, crocheting, quilting or crafting, she was always gifting her creations. Many of her projects won ribbons at the Topsfield Fair.

Aline’s faith was very important to her and she was a lifelong member of the Amesbury Catholic Community where she shared her talents there as well. Most recently as part of the Prayer Shawl Ministry, making hundreds of prayer shawls for the sick and dying. She also used her talents for the greater community as well. She logged in over 9000 hours of service to Anna Jaques Hospital. She made thousands of “Teddy Bears” for the children who were admitted to Pediatrics in the hospital. She always said she made each one with love. Most of all, Aline loved her family. She always took on the holidays and made every one special. She never passed on any opportunity to be part of any celebration no matter what it was, and her spirit will remain in all of the family celebrations going forward. Aline leaves behind her four children: Theresa Ouellet and her husband Mike of Amesbury, Michael Dodier of Warwich, RI, Marc Dodier and his wife Lisa (Sanborn) of Kensington, NH and Paul Dodier and his wife Judy (Walton) of Amesbury. There are 10 Grandchildren: Sarah Comora, Rebecca Gomez, Abby Ouellet, and Joel Ouellet; Jason Dodier and Shelby Guerra; Danielle Nguidjoi and Christopher Dodier; and Haley Sutherland and Hannah Beaudet and 14 Great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her 2 brothers, Gerard DesAutels of North Andover and Paul DesAutels and wife Linda Baldinelli of Myrtle Beach, SC. And her cousin and friend Noella Boudreau and many friends, nieces and nephews.
