It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Albert Gerald Bellavance Jr., a resident of Amesbury, MA. just shy of his 81st birthday. He was born in Amesbury, MA, son of the late Albert and Alphonsine (Fournier) Bellavance. He was one of eight children, sharing the same birthday as his father. 

   After graduating from Amesbury High School, he went to barber school in Boston while managing an apartment house and working for Louie's Barbershop in Market Sq. in Amesbury. He then assumed ownership of his family barbershop, Bellavance Brothers Barbershop. At that time he changed the name to Bellavance Barber & Styling Salon after which he survived three fires. A year after the last fire, in his final location, he put the sign up: Gone Fishing! 

   A teen with the love of the outdoors, he summered at Lake Attitash at the family farm and learned to fly-fish on the Powow River and Lake Gardner. He fished daily with his brothers even after a capsized boat event in the Merrimack River. His fishing rods were always with him and if he was not fishing, he was camping in the White Mountains. In the past few years, he spent summer nights cruising Salisbury and Hampton Beaches. He was fond of music and was very generous to those in need. His garden produced plenty to share and he did share it all. His customers most often got first pick of that days harvest. Towards the end of his life, he visited his siblings, relatives and friends often and kept them informed about where the best lobster roll and haddock dinner was. He was active for many years in the Sacred Heart Parish in Amesbury. Albert Jr. will be missed by his family, friends, and customers. 

   He is survive by brothers Fernand Bellavance and his partner Kathleen Ashworth of Hampstead, NH and Paul Bellevance of Amesbury, his sister Jeannine St. Germain of Hampton, NH., sister-in-law Nancy Bellavance of Methuen, MA., and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Rosemary Roche, sisters Theresa and her husband Don Cohen, and JoAnn Bellavance, brothers Norman and wife Lorraine, Raymond and wife Corrine, Robert Bellavance, and in-laws Rosemary Bellavance wife of Fernand and Roland St. Germain husband of Jeannine. 

   Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a graveside service on Friday Nov. 21, 2025 at 11:00 am at the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Amesbury, MA donations may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. at www.diabetes.org
